Therapy

Liam has two different therapists that visit our home.  One is Michelle and is a Developmental Specialist.  She is going to help Liam meet each of his milestones.  Right now we are working on strengthening his neck so he can hold his own head up so we do tummy on a boppy to help with that.  We also are working on getting him to move his hands in front of him so he can see them and to get his hands to his mouth so we have these little rice pillows we put under his arms to get his hands together.  Never thought I would be encouraging my child to get his hands in his mouth!

His other therapist is Sandra and she is Liam's vision therapist.  We have a lot of black and white pictures and books that he loves to look at.  We are working on tracking and I'll move a picture or book in front of him and try to get him to follow it.  He has been doing really really good at that!

I'm so grateful we have so many wonderful people who will help us with this journey with our little man!

Happy World Down Syndrome Day!

Here we are ROCKING our SOCKS for World Down Syndrome Day to bring awareness to Down syndrome.  Our little Liam is just like any other baby.  He cries, he smiles, he sleeps.  What makes him different is that he has 3 strands of chromosome 21, where people typically have only 2.  This has affected his health and he'll have a harder time learning and speaking, but that doesn't mean he can't accomplish what any other child can!  We feel so blessed to have this sweet little boy who has just a little something extra!

Blessing

It was Liam's blessing today.  My heart has been so full since this sweet baby was born.  I am so grateful that my Heavenly Father sent this sweet angel to our family.  Liam has been such a blessing to us.  He has taught us so many things, and we have seen so many little miracles since he has been in our life.  Casey gave such a beautiful blessing today to Liam.  He blessed him with good health and he would be such a wonderful example of love.  He also said that even though he won't travel far as a missionary, he would still be a missionary spreading the gospel through his example and love.  It was a wonderful blessing and a wonderful day.

Liam's Day

We have such a wonderful and supportive family who have helped us out so much!  It was so nice to visit and eat with all of them after Liam's blessing.  Kyson kept wondering when we were going to cut the cake and sing "Happy Birthday".  He thought today was Liam's birthday!

Liam is 3 months

I can't believe Liam is 3 months old!  He has started smiling this month and they are tiny smiles, and were not sure half the time if it is a real smile, but to us, that is the highlight of the month!  He is slowly gaining weight, and is now 8 lbs 7 oz.

Our little Minion

Liam has been wearing contacts, and I have loved it.  We only take them in and out once a week and have had no problems! Well, yesterday I went to his eye doctor appointment and as Dr. Young was checking his eyes, she said that the one in the right eye was missing!  Luckily we just got his new glasses, and hopefully will get his replacement contact in a couple of days.  His lenses are so thick his eyes are so magnified he looks like a little Minion!

Working on his vision therapy.  He loves looking at these black and white picture books.

First Smiles!

Liam's cute little personality has been coming out!  He will look at me when I am talking to him, and we have finally started seeing his cute little smiles!

Happy Birthday dear Kyson!

My cute Kyson is 5 years old!  He had a fun couple of days celebrating!  We had our families over for cake and ice cream Sunday night.  I had a friend who made his CUTE pirate cake.

On Monday, he had a party with his friends and played some fun pirate games!
