11 months!

Gavin is now 11 months old! This has been a really fun month. He loves to clap and say "yay!". He never claps without saying "yay!". I think "yay" is his first word. He also says "dada" when he is happy, and "momma" when he is sad. I think it is because I give hugs and Casey is the fun one.

He LOVES to eat. He could sit all day in his high chair eating and be as happy as can be! His favorite foods right now are: cheerios, bread, peas and carrots (not mashed), spaghetti, chicken, grapes....I could name more.

Oh, he is so much fun...one more month and he is the BIG 1!

Hello Spring!

I love this little taste of Spring we have been getting for the past few days! I just hope it keeps coming! Yesterday Gavin and I spent some time outside, and it was wonderful!! We took the dogs for a walk. Poor little Belle has been getting so FAT sitting inside all day, so she was in need of the exercise, Bear loved it, and Emma enjoyed her ride in the stroller. After our walk, we spent some time in the yard. Gavin loved to pick up the leaves and feel them crinkle in his fingers. We also sat on the hammock for a while and he loved that too.

That sun is bright mom!

Standing Gavin!

Walking is just around the corner! Gavin can stand all by himself now. He walks really good when I am holding one hand, but he is too chicken to walk on his own...which is okay with me. Take all the time you need Gavin.

Gavin videos

Here are some videos of Gavin.

The first video is Gavin in the tub. Gavin has a fun game he plays in the tub where he puts his face in the water. He thinks it is pretty funny.

The second video is him playing "Peek-a-boo" . He loves to play it. He usually will use his hands, but if he has a blanket, he will use the blanket too. It is pretty cute.

Babysitting the Simmons clan

On Friday night, we babysat Casey's sister's kids, Alivia, Bryce, Whitney and Weston. They are all such good kids, so it was really fun. Alivia and Bryce wanted to play the Wii, Whitney wanted to play with the dogs and Weston just wanted to play with Casey. They brought their dog, Boo, along and Whitney kept saying, "Boo, here is your mom, Belle, here is your dad, Bear and here is your sister, Emma". She thought it was pretty cool that the dogs were all related. Emma and Boo had so much fun playing together.

Swinging!

I forget that Gavin still loves his swing. I have it in his room, and he rarely uses it, because he likes to be on the go. Today I put him in it for a little bit while I was getting ready, and he was having a blast.

I cut it again!

I went in on Saturday to get my hair TRIMMED. I left with a little more then a trim. I love it, and Casey has gotten use to it now. It was quite a shock when I came home! I love it so much, I had to get a picture of it....I felt really silly taking the picture by myself, but Casey would have laughed at me if I had him take it!

Yum! Rolls!

Gavin's favorite food right now is rolls. He gets so excited when he sees me pull a roll out of the bag and start walking towards him! At first I would break it up into small pieces, but one day I just gave it to him whole and he felt like such a big boy holding it in both hands and chewing away at it. He can easily eat a whole roll at one sitting, and probably more if I would let him! Almost done! He is very generous and sometimes drops a few pieces to the dogs who sit patiently by his high chair.

Happy Birthday Braxton!!

Braxton had his 3rd birthday today. He is such a funny little boy, and says the funniest things! My favorite thing he says is, "Brynnie, you and Gavin are my best friends." He always makes me laugh when we are around him!

Opening his present from us. He got a piano from Papa Bill and Grandma Deana.
Gavin LOVED the piano. He always found his way to the piano and he would pull himself up and start pounding away at it!

Family picture

We were all so matchy matchy, I had to get a picture.

10 months!

Gavin is now 10 months! I can't believe that in a couple of months he'll be 1! It seems like I just had him! He finally has a tooth popping up! It was a rough week when that happened, and now that it is up, it is good to have our happy little Gavin back.

Emma's new look

Emma got her first hair cut, and I am surprised how well she did! I loved her long hair, but it only looked nice the day she was bathed, then it doesn't look as good. Once she got her hair cut, she had this new confidence! She was always too scared to hop off the couch, and now she can do it...if she is excited enough. She acts like a totally different dog, it is pretty funny!

Friends

I had a fun weekend hanging out with friends. On Friday, I went to dinner with my girl friends to Bajios. It was good to see everyone and get caught up with everything that is going on.

On Saturday we went to Kristine and Andrew Davis's and played guitar hero. I thought I was doing pretty good, until I played against Mat and Drew....I have to practice so I can beat them! It was a lot of fun to see Joe and Debbie Davis's baby, Abigail, and Gavin play together.

Happy Valentines Day!

I had a great Valentines Day! We had a fun day at school decorating cookies, passing out Valentines and doing some fun Valentines Day activities. Holidays are the BEST when you are a teacher, and surprisingly, the kids were actually pretty good, and not too wired!

For dinner, we were going to go out to eat, but the thought of waiting for a table along with everyone else, didn't seem too fun, so we made dinner at home. We made Eggs Bennedict with Hollandaise Sauce. Yum. Later we made some sugar cookies and watched a movie.

I love the two boys in my life, my husband and son. I don't know what life would be like without them. What I love about Casey is his patience with me. He always makes me laugh and he makes me special all the time. I realized last night that Valentines Day was really no different from any other day, because he really makes me feel important every day.

Caught!

I put Gavin down for his nap, and a few minutes later I heard him playing, so I tried to sneak in his room to get a video of him playing, and I caught him cuddling with his stuffed animal! The best part was when he caught me. I just love his smile when he finds out I'm there.

Peek-A-Boo!

Today was my day off (I work every other Monday), and I had fun just hanging out with Gavin. I know I am a little obsessed with my son, but here is ANOTHER video of him:)

Helping mom

Gavin was a big help today. I decided to take on the big task of washing the dogs. It wouldn't be so bad, except they HATE getting wet, so they sit there and try to get out. Gavin was a big help and stood there watching and playing with them. He just wishes he was on the other side with them!

Best Friends

Even though there is a 2 year difference between Gavin and Braxton, they are such cute little friends. Braxton is so good playing with Gavin, and you can tell Gavin looks up to his big cousin.
