Cascade Springs

Thanks to Liam we have enjoyed our Free National Parks Pass a couple of times this last week.  We hiked up Timp Cave (it was harder then I remember!) and today we went to Cascade Springs.  Such a beautiful place!

FOOD!

After we got back from our trip to St. George, I thought it was time to start this little man on rice cereal.  I was really nervous about it because babies with Down syndrome have a hard time eating because of their tongues.  But Liam did great and he loved it!  So proud of this little man!

6 months!!

I can't believe this little boy is 6 months! He finally passed up 10 lbs. and is now 10 lbs. 2 oz. wohoo!  His heart is doing good, but he is still on oxygen for his pulmonary hypertension. We did a test at night to test his oxygen and he did great so even though he has a couple holes they aren't making him work too hard,

His eyes are doing great and his vision therapist has been a big help.  He is tracking things and loves looking and interacting with people.  He does have Nystagmus (shaky eyes) and we're not sure if he has crossed eyes or not.  Usually those are all related.

He started rolling over at about 5 months and we are working on sitting up.

Last week we did a special walk with the United Angels Foundation to celebrate our little Liam.  We feel so blessed to have this little angel in our life!

5 months!

Our little Liam is 5 months old!  I can't believe he is that big already!  He just started rolling over, and it was a surprise to me!  He hasn't shown any signs of rolling over, and I even asked his Developemental Specialist today if we should start working on that.  She said we'll be having a physical therapist coming to help.  Tonight while I was cleaning up dinner, I could tell he he was getting close and then next thing I knew, he did it!  I was so fun to watch!

Happy Easter!

Gavin, the Birthday Boy!

My sweet Gavin turned 7!  He had a fun couple of days celebrating.  We celebrated the day of his Birthday getting ice cream and then the next day it was party after party!  He had a friend party with the bounce house, cotton candy and snow cones, and then right after, the family came over and we had cake and ice cream and kept on partying!

Gavin is such a good boy.  He is a good brother who is always wanting to play with his siblings.  He is a big helper around the house.  Whenever I tell him to clean up, he does a great job cleaning up toys and putting things away.  He has been Casey and my little helper working in the yard. He loves to work in the yard with us.  He has been working hard this school year.  Learning to read hasn't been easy for him, but he is really working hard and has been making a lot of progress.  He loves to play soccer and is learning the piano.

4 months!

This little man is 4 months old!  I can't believe he is already that old!  He is such a GOOD baby. I feel very spoiled.  He doesn't cry much and is a very calm and content baby.  We just had his 4 month check-up and here are his stats:

-Weighs 9lbs 4 oz.
-22 1/2 inches long
-Smiles and interacts with us
-Loves to lay on the floor and look at his black and white books and hanging toys
-We are working on strengthening his neck with tummy time, but it's still a little wobbly
-Tracks and follows lights and pictures with his eyes
-I can always get a smile when I'm walking down the stairs with him
-Nurses and takes a bottle really good
-Still on oxygen at nights for pulmonary hypertension
-Doesn't nap real great, I have to hold him while he's sleeping or put him in his swing, or else he wakes up!
-I can't complain about his napping problems because he gives me 10-12 hours of sleep every night!

Spring Break

We have loved our Spring Break!  I have loved being home with my cute kids and getting things done. We have also enjoyed going out for a few play dates.  We enjoyed going to Thanksgiving Point with Camille and Sadie.  It was beautiful there and smelled great!

We also enjoyed the park with Kassie and her kids.  I love seeing little Crew and Liam interact with each other.  They are always trying to grab each other or look at each other. Such cute little boys!

No more training wheels!

Gavin finally learned how to ride his bike without training wheels!  We spent one afternoon outside working on it and he is a pro now!  Kyson finally graduated from the trike to his bike with training wheels and Adalyn loves her new trike!

And this is what happens when we don't get a nap...we just lay outside on our pillow...

Therapy

Liam has two different therapists that visit our home.  One is Michelle and is a Developmental Specialist.  She is going to help Liam meet each of his milestones.  Right now we are working on strengthening his neck so he can hold his own head up so we do tummy on a boppy to help with that.  We also are working on getting him to move his hands in front of him so he can see them and to get his hands to his mouth so we have these little rice pillows we put under his arms to get his hands together.  Never thought I would be encouraging my child to get his hands in his mouth!

His other therapist is Sandra and she is Liam's vision therapist.  We have a lot of black and white pictures and books that he loves to look at.  We are working on tracking and I'll move a picture or book in front of him and try to get him to follow it.  He has been doing really really good at that!

following the picture....

 still following it...
 Did it!
He loves this page in this book!
 Tummy time!

I'm so grateful we have so many wonderful people who will help us with this journey with our little man!
